Brazilian Lemonade

Cool down with this super refreshing and incredibly creamy Brazilian lemonade.

While I always assumed traditional lemonade was the ultimate summer drink, I’m doing my best to make up for lost time now that I’ve discovered this version. And luckily, my family and friends are completely on board, they absolutely love this sweet drink!

Warm weather season has arrived (hooray!) and we’re all welcoming it with open arms. When it’s hot, sunny, or muggy outside, few things are more satisfying than a tall, chilled glass of something sweet. And this quick, frothy drink packed with fresh limes and sweetened condensed milk is just the thing!

Ingredients in Brazilian Lemonade

This simple ingredient combination creates a bright citrus drink with a creamy twist.

How to Make Brazilian Lemonade

This recipe moves quickly once the ingredients are prepared, so it helps to gather everything before starting.

1. Wash the limes

Begin by rinsing the limes well under cool running water. Since the peel blends into the drink briefly, clean fruit helps keep the flavor bright and fresh.

2. Cut the limes

Slice each lime into quarters. Removing the tough white center helps prevent bitterness while keeping the citrus flavor strong.

3. Blend the limes and water

Place the lime pieces into a blender along with cold water. Blend for a short time, just long enough to break down the fruit and release the oils from the peel.

4. Strain the mixture

Pour the blended mixture through a fine strainer into a large pitcher. This step removes the pulp and peel pieces while leaving behind a smooth citrus base.

5. Add sweetness

Stir in the sweetened condensed milk and sugar. Mix until everything dissolves into the lime mixture and the drink turns slightly creamy.

6. Blend again briefly

Pour the mixture back into the blender with a handful of ice. Blend for a few seconds until the drink becomes lightly frothy and cold.

7. Taste and adjust

Take a quick taste of the lemonade and adjust the sweetness if needed. Some limes taste stronger than others, so a small extra spoon of sugar can help balance the flavor.

8. Chill before serving

Place the pitcher in the refrigerator for a short time if the drink needs extra chilling before serving.

9. Prepare the glasses

Fill serving glasses with fresh ice cubes so the drink stays cold longer.

10. Pour and garnish

Pour the lemonade into each glass and finish with a slice of lime on the rim for a fresh and colorful presentation.

How to Serve Brazilian Lemonade

Serve this drink ice cold for the best flavor and texture. The creamy citrus mixture tastes brightest when chilled and slightly frothy.

Tall glasses work well because they show off the pale green color of the lemonade. A slice of lime on the rim adds a simple decoration that makes the drink look even more refreshing.

This drink pairs beautifully with light snacks. Fresh fruit, chips with dip, or simple sandwiches complement the bright citrus flavor without overpowering it.

During warm weather gatherings, a large pitcher of Brazilian lemonade often disappears quickly. Guests tend to refill their glasses once they taste the smooth blend of lime and creamy sweetness.

Recipe Tips

  • Use fresh limes for the strongest citrus flavor. Bottled juice will not create the same bright taste.
  • Blend the limes only briefly. Over blending can pull too much bitterness from the peel and change the flavor.
  • Strain the mixture carefully to remove peel pieces. A smooth base keeps the drink refreshing rather than pulpy.
  • Adjust sweetness depending on the limes. Some batches need slightly more sugar to balance the tartness.
  • Serve the drink soon after blending. Fresh lime flavor tastes best when the drink stays newly prepared.
  • Keep the lemonade chilled until serving time. Cold temperature highlights the creamy citrus flavor.
  • Stir the pitcher before pouring each glass so the condensed milk stays evenly mixed throughout the drink.
